Employee housing can make a seasonal resort job much easier—or create a surprise if you assume details that were never promised. Treat housing as a separate part of the job decision and ask clear questions before you commit.

Is housing actually offered for this position?

Do not rely on what another employee received last year or what a resort offered in a different department. Ask whether housing is available for your exact role and dates.

What does it cost?

Ask whether housing is free, deducted from pay, billed separately, or requires a deposit. Find out whether utilities, internet, parking, laundry, or other costs are included. If deductions apply, ask how they appear on your pay statement.

What is the living arrangement?

Find out whether you would have a private room, shared room, dorm-style space, apartment, cabin, or another setup. Ask how many people share bathrooms and kitchens and whether roommates are assigned.

What happens when the job ends?

Seasonal housing is often tied to active employment. Ask when you may move in, how soon you must move out after your last shift, and what happens if the season ends earlier than expected.

Can you get to work without a car?

Housing near a resort does not automatically mean transportation is provided. Ask about walking distance, staff shuttles, parking, winter access, and whether you need reliable personal transportation for groceries or off-site errands.

Get important details in writing

If housing materially affects whether you can take the job, keep the written housing terms with your other job information. That makes it easier to compare opportunities and plan your budget.
